What to Bring to Chankanaab Park Cozumel: Packing Checklist

Quick answerBring swimsuit, towel, biodegradable reef safe sunscreen (chemical sunscreens are banned and confiscated at the gate), water shoes for the rocky entry, cash for tips and a waterproof phone pouch. Snorkel gear, life vest and lockers are included with most packages. Personal SLR cameras are not allowed in dolphin pools (a separate photo package is sold).

Sunscreen Rules

Chankanaab strictly enforces a biodegradable, reef safe sunscreen policy. Brands containing oxybenzone, octinoxate, octocrylene, parabens or 4-methylbenzylidene camphor are confiscated at the entrance gate. Approved brands include Stream2Sea, Thinksport, Badger and Raw Elements. The park sells reef safe sunscreen at the gift shop for 18 to 25 USD if you forget. The same rule applies to all snorkel tours on Cozumel.
